Free SLB Shop and Hop Car

 As of the writing of this article, there's still several days left in the SL22B "Shop and Hop" shopping event. Each of the stores has freebies, or a gift certificate. For the Olympus Motors store at Zinnia (227/102/23), they have something just about all of us in real life could use: a free car.

 

The car boasts 64 colors of paint jobs, a realistic looking engine, realistic sounds, an alarm, and more. 

To get it, click on the vendor and select "buy." You then get the giver. You select "add" on that, click the giver HUD, and you get the car in your inventory.

The interior is well detailed. 

Remember to turn off any AO of yours when you take the wheel.

I took it out for a short spin. It seemed to handle sim borders okay. But it could have a little trouble rounding corners. So be careful on bridges over water.

The Newser SL21B Exhibit, And A Few More

 The Second Life Birthday, the SL21B is over. This year, yours truly wasn't able to get there as often as he wanted. But I still had a little time to get a few pictures. 

As in all but the first SL Birthday's we've covered, the Newser had it's own exhbit, built by Silvia Ametza and her team, at SLB Incredible. 

In the middle was a rotating globe, supported by two arches. 

 

Silvia had set up something for people to guestimate the future of climate change.

 

 

The calculations depend on variables which can change. 

There was a little lost puppy at the build, which would occasionally howl.

There was also an elevator that would take people to the lower, underwater level.

Silvia and her teammates,  Aimeelou Destiny and Kimblecoles Resident did great, as they always have in previous builds.

Before leaving, I would take a few more pictures of some other exhibits. 

French artist Moya had an exhibit there.

At the SL19B

I enjoy the Second Life birthdays so much. I have been active as a volunteer since 2009. First I was a greeter, then an exhibitor assistant. The Moles took over that job along with their building of the infrastructure and so much more so I became a greeter again. 

The greeters all got together with Alotta Mole, Itsa Mole and Squeaky Mole at an orientation in the gallery before the opening to orient ourselves and take a tour.

The stages are outstanding as are the surroundings. There will be live performers and djs for your enjoyment throughout the event which lasts until July 5. I love visiting the installations of the exhibitors. There are so many to see. Try the pod tour that takes you along the road and tells you what is nearby and you can hop off to visit what you want. Some of the exhibitors also place gifts at their sites so look around when you get there. I will be taking photos during the week and will post them. Here are some of the stops I made so far.

The gift area is outstanding. All the gifts are in one spot this year and I like it. Get there to get the many gifts left by the exhibitors. They are in the center of the Tapestry of Time building. It is my opinion that this exhibit should be somewhere in a region permanently. It would take a whole week just to read all about the past back to the very beginning , the first anniversary 2004 which has become the slbirthday celebration.

Some of the exhibits are spellbinding when you look at them from a distance. I was entranced by that of Yobex Resident.

I stopped off at the colorful installation of the Yobe Gallery. Lots to examine there.

I did get some time to attend part of the live piano performance of Tia Rungray which was delightful and restful. The Vernian Rotunda is a perfect place for such an event It is large and open and many avatars can attend the events there. 

I cannot stress enough how much great work the Moles did putting in the magnificent infrastructure in many regions. There is so much to do and see before July 5. Get here! Come to the Welcome area and get the official hat in the gift giver. Grab the hunt hud to get your prizes there too.

More SL15B Exhibits

I always look for Ginger Lorakeet’s installation at the birthdays. On her parcel you can enter into the pictures and become part of them.

This year she has wonderful fantasy creatures in her pictures so I hopped right in.

Nearby is the Bay City exhibit . Bay City is also celebrating the 10th anniversary and Marianne McCann is illustrating Points of Interest in her build. I spend some time there so was glad to see this . Their events are always such fun... parades... car washes... parties .

Take a look. Pick up the city directory and booster pack, flag, postcard for your future city to the City.

I ran into Draxtor Despres  on the Bay City Bridge and we stopped to discuss the whole 15 years LOL. He was getting ready to stream the birthday into Sansar at 11:00 slt

Close to the Palace is the Great Snail Races parcel. Lovely crystal snail caught my attention. Pick up your own tiny snail that is lovely!

Caro Fayray has a bubbly Crystal Bowl here .”A Gentlemen's Club for Mer Monsters. Take the Bubble Taxi provided.  A world reversed and roles reversed. Anything is possible in virtual. This build is also an experiment in physics optimisation. See notecard” 

The bubble taxi takes you up to the club , inhabited by large wiggling sea creatures and shifting crystals. Very lovely and you actually got to take the bowl with you as a gift! Look for it.  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SL15B%20Dazzle/139/174/23

This is the week to really get to enjoy the parcels with less lag. The parties are over...the pods are running... the gifts are waiting. Do not let this opportunity pass. Get over to Bear Island and collect those bears!! Visit the Cornfield. Enjoy the beauty of the builds! So much work for such a short period of time. I applaud all who were involved in this special time. I wonder what the 20th will bring! Start from any of the above sites and head out!
