Crystal Craze

By Gemma Cleanslate

One of my friends, RoxyLee Rayna , who owns the Requiem  region in Second Life told me about a new fun game that owners are using to stimulate traffic. She was having a great time trying it out and recommended that I take a look at it.

I went over to the Headquarters to check it out. It is called Crystalcraze and is mainly for raising traffic for owners who want that to happen.

The greeter announced:

“Welcome to CrystalCraze Headquarters, Gemma Cleanslate!
CrystalCraze is a new and exciting SL hunting game currently still in pre-release testing!
Did you know that there is a HUD for CrystalCraze?
You can get it from the sign on the wall to your left.
[08:49] Second Life: CrystalCraze  has given you this landmark:
CrystalCraze HQ
I'm going to send you a LM just in case you don't have one yet.”

The headquarters is walls are filled with information on how to play to make any new player feel secure. There is help also. I joined the group that turned out to be a very busy chat and notice group . To try it out I got myself a Hud and a basket for carrying my crystals. There was an area there for practice. Joining the group and starting the game give one a bonus of 200L to get started. It is fast moving and has unexpected events held randomly by the owners to give players a chance to grab crystal or clusters of crystals on their property.

I also met Aɴɢᴜs (anguschill), the creator of this game and found it is still in beta but moving along very well. He explained how it worked and we went off to check out an event. It is great fun chasing crystals. I am pretty good at it because I still run in the Linden Realms for their crystals at times and this game is reminiscent of the realms and yet different. I asked about the traffic aspect of the game and he told me “Yes, they do get traffic, pure traffic stats, but also visitors to their creations of course. I mean there are a lot of traffic games out there. But with CC the idea was to have very active traffic. people who actually engage with landowners builds while looking for clusters and collecting crystals instead of just camping or standing there fishing in one spot.”

With permission, here is an example of a call to an event ...

“09:37] CrystalCraze:
Arlequin Carter is hosting a 2X CrystalCraze event for 15 minutes!
Head over there and join in on the fun!
Teleport to FRANCE Entraide & Amitie - Build & Script"

Notices come fast and furious at times, one after the other

I know that the owners love it too. I checked with my friend Roxy who has been using it for a few months to see how she likes it and she told me ,, “oh  that's great  Gem .. All  good for me.. love the game too .. is  fun and rewarding . I have clusters and Crystals at my sim and is a good traffic booster more than the other games..100% quote me” and about the creator of the game she said “He works really hard  and is a nice friendly person too  which helps  with  games”

Watching the calls for 15min events I can see the other owners of the parcels feel the same way and have fun doing it. It is a great way to make lindens for all the participants “ Angus makes a low profit but I think he created it because it he has a lot of fun watching and engaging with the players and the owners . I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way to get more traffic and also to avatars who are looking for a way to make lindens. Go try it!

Check out the website to see the rules and places that have crystal hunting  and more information  https://crystalcraze.zeezeo.com/index.php  , and then visit the headquarters. Good luck and have fun!! Run!!

Treasure Quest

By MajikVixen (bluevioletvixen.lorefield)

“Avast Ye Matey, If Ye Be Looking For Treasure, 'Tis Here...!”

Treasure Quest is another relatively new game within Second Life that is pretty fun to play and generates traffic for Land Owners. StormyDaze15 and Chris (chrs1969) developed the game in hopes of improving other coin hunting games out there.  I would say from the abundance of happy chatter going on in the group, that it's definitely the best generation of these types of games.  Players are also free to talk about any game they want in group chat, Stormy and Chris do not fear that threatening TQ.  Players have talked about a multitude of things, from the game itself, to everyday things like pizza, and Dr. Phil.  Players love to chat because it gives them something to do while waiting for a TQ item.

There are free HUDs for both Players and Land Owners (listed as the 2nd link in the Additional Information, URLs section of this article).  Tax is only 10% (which one only pays once, not on every item).

One simply adds the Players HUD and then can search for Coins, Gems, or Mystery Prizes worth L$ or things.  There are buttons on the HUD to check your balance, go to Headquarters (there are items there and an ATM; once you have L$1 you can withdraw with your group tag), go to the website, or find lands to hunt on.  I clicked a few coins at various places and got myself a pretty penny!  It's easy, you just stand within 10 meters of an item, click them, the time counts down in the floating text, then you type in an answer to the simple math question in the blue box that pops up (probably to prove you're not a bot), and your score is presented in nearby chat.

The values of each item have also been listed on their website (listed as the first link in the Additional Information, URLs section of this article), ranging from L$.01 - L$10.  However something new has happened with Mega Coins (also listed on their website)... these are valued at L$25, L$50, L$100, L$200, and L$250.  For example, the L$25 one is worth a 45 minute wait (the more the value, the longer the wait).

Additionally, anyone can ask for a special Mega Coin to be designed (you can even pick the value), and Stormy and Chris will make them for free.  During the weekend, I asked them to make a Mega Coin with a heart that has bat wings, inspired by my ^v^/<|;) (Bats Out Of Hats) store, and they did!  After some short testing, the Gothic Heart coin was released on 08AUG16 and is valued at L$25.  Players are only allowed one Mega Coin per day, per avatar, per land, but it really pays off!

As a Land Owner, funding is easy, you just rez the Treasure Quest Funds Vendor, fund it, and then you can take it back into your inventory.  Land Owners can rez as many TQ items as they want (TQ is low prim friendly, for example, each Coin is only 1 prim), and once a Mega Coin is rezzed, it goes to sleep (becomes invisible) so a hunter can't follow you to collect them.  As long as you have the Treasure Quest Land Anchor, the Land Owner HUD will tell you what you need to rez to have a Dash at your place.  A player does have to follow the Terms of Service, also listed on their website, but this is to make playing fair for everyone.

TQ also chose not to do ranks, to keep the game more enjoyable and not stressful.  However, the items one has collected are displayed in nearby chat, and they do have a weekly contest that is like a bonus to playing the game.

Although group chat announces when an item is hidden or found, Treasure Quest players typically never know what awesomeness they may find.  Truly there is no other game out there like this.  ...So get out your Geiger counters and find those worthwhile items just itching for their new owners!

New Species of Lindo Virtual Flowers

By MajikVixen (Bluevioletvixen Lorefield)

This week, on July 11th, 2016, marks the new and very exciting release of the Lindo HUD v5.29 and new Seed Dispensers v1.6 for Terminal Owners.  This allows Players AND Terminal Owners to gain MORE Lindens!  Yippee!

To recap on what Lindo actually is, it is a relatively new game designed to increase traffic and earn L$ very easily.  The HUD was made very simple and is beautifully flawless in its design and function.  You just add it, and click the watering can to water your virtual flower.  You are able to water flowers, in areas wherever the sun on the HUD is shining.  If the sun is not shining, you just click the "Get A Location" link on the HUD to teleport to a different place that has the sun shining, so you can water your flower.  One will earn L$ as it grows and reaches full maturity.  Then you verify a simple mathematical equation to start growing another seed.  The HUD does come with a few free seeds, but eventually you will need to buy some or pass a copy of the HUD to your friends to earn some free seeds (currently inactive, but will be brought back for a limited time).  When you withdraw funds, they come straight from your HUD, there's no need to visit an ATM.  This is a reliable game you can feel secure playing, as it is Alt and Hack proof!  Store owners set up a Terminal and Seed Dispenser, wherever they want to increase traffic.  They can set it to SIM or Parcel and add pretty much any amount of L$ they would like to, into it.

So how many lindens can you actually earn with Lindo now?  It varies according to conditions, but when one grows a flower by watering it regularly, earnings are between L$5-13 within an hour.  Current minimum earning ratio is L$ 0.02-0.08 for each growing step.  A player can earn more lindens by attending multiplier events, listed on Lindo's Locations part of their website.  A Terminal Owner can set a multiplier very easily, and it will be announced in group chat.  One can also improve their Experience Points with the release of the new Golden and Silver Seeds feature.  A regular seed gives a player 1x Experience Gain and currently costs L$2, which gives a Terminal Owner a L$1 kickback.  A Silver Seed gives 2x XP and currently costs L$4, which gives the Terminal Owner a L$2 kickback.  A Golden Seed also gives 2x XP, but it additionally grows your flower faster.  Golden seeds currently cost L$6, which gives the Terminal Owner a L$3 kickback.  The Weekly High Ranks have also been brought back.  1st place Player earns your regular rate of pay, plus a 50% rate increase of earnings (so if you made L$8 for one flower, that would be L$8 + L$4 = L$12).  2nd place earns regular rate of pay plus a 25% increase of earnings, and 3rd earns regular rate of pay plus a 10% increase of earnings.  Players can check their status on the Ranks part of their website.  As the week goes by, anyone in these ranks will get the increase in pay all week, as long as they stay in the ranks (loose the spot, and lose the increase).

Lindo certainly has come a long way since my husband JonCernunnos and I first discovered the very colorful Lindo Headquarters, neighboring our home in Bonita Beach, back in May.  As for our bet on who is making more money at their game, I reluctantly agree that Jon is winning.  Even though I have been playing for close to two years now, after deducting the cost of all my fishing equipment, Jon is at least, an astonishing, 5,000 up on me by having played Lindo in just these three months, ha ha!  Jon and I have continued to love working very closely with the friendly and professional Lindo team.  I am the Official Article Manager, and Jon helps test new improvements while participating in group chat and events.  Lindo has a great team of support agents who always seem to be showing up at events to greet the patrons and help support the shop owners' advertising and questions, in many languages.

Lindo was created by a Turkish gentleman, Sofistik, about a year and some months ago.  He says he it took about four months to release beta tests and about two months of a stable version, and that people knew about it in the 4-5 month range.  He says it all started when he was trying to write some scripts for a girl and her roof-opening building.  A friend of his saw the roof prototype and told him it looked like a flower, which brought the totally unique Lindo project of increasing traffic, to life.  Now about 400 unique players join, weekly.  Sofistik noticed a few months ago, Russian, Turkish, German, and Italian people started playing.  Mainly, Lindo goes by word of mouth, as passing a copy of your HUD earns you free seeds (currently inactive, but will be brought back for a limited time).

Sofistik is always improving his products.  He deems himself "obsessive about the design to make things as perfect as they can be," and rightly so.  The future of Lindo is here, and it's great to be a part of it, as Player or a Terminal Owner.  Upcoming for the future of Lindo, Sofistik is considering allowing players to grow their own flowers to be rezed inworld.  We will keep you posted on new developments, but in the meanwhile, here's wishing you a green thumb!
